Crises, climate disasters and inequalities
We study how pandemics, climate disasters and social conditions enter the health trajectories of real families.
How we approach this area
Collective crises do not affect everyone in the same way. When a flood or a pandemic sweeps through a population, it meets inequalities that were already there — and can deepen them.
Our starting point is that, in many cases, we have data from before the event. This makes it possible to compare the same family before and after, instead of reconstructing the past from memory.
It is epidemiological work, but also listening: part of what we know about how the 2024 floods affected these families' lives comes from what the participants themselves told us.
